Data Systems Manager

The Opportunity

Are you passionate about leveraging technology to drive organizational change? Do you have a track record of successfully managing databases? We are seeking an innovative and results-driven individual to support our IT system infrastructure and provide project management support for our digital transformation initiatives. A great candidate will enjoy working cross functionally with internal and external stakeholders, naturally pays close attention to details, with a constant eye on data quality, analysis, and learning.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand organizational needs and develop future state planning of Ascend’s digital and technology operating models.

  • Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of IT projects to ensure successful implementation of digital solutions.

  • Identify and evaluate existing systems, processes, and technologies to recommend value-based improvements aligned with the organization's goals.

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to achieve project objectives within scope.

  • Develop digital and technology project plans, tools, and templates.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate new systems and technologies seamlessly.

  • Provide training and support to staff members to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies.

  • Evaluate the performance of implemented solutions and make recommendations for enhancements or adjustments as needed.

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile

The following offers an aspirational view of the ideal candidate profile.

  • 5+ years of relevant and meaningful professional experience; prior NGO/Nonprofit experience a plus.

  • Self-motivated and collaborative technology champion who leans into opportunities and can evangelize best practices for internal stakeholders

  • Hands-on technology background dealing with a variety of application performance and information infrastructure issues; prior system implementation/integration experience preferred.

  • Proficient in Google Workforce, Excel, Powerpoint. SQL, Databricks/Python or equivalent data management tool skills desirable.

  • Strong understanding of IT systems, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and data management.

  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills to collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.

  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Successful completion of background checks required upon hire

Employment Details

  • Full Time, Salary/Exempt position with a starting salary of $60,000-$90,000. The actual base salary offered may vary depending on candidate qualifications, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, work location and analysis of internal pay equity.

  • Generous benefit program including employer subsidized Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life insurance for employees.

  • Remote work within the contiguous United States. Ascend is a hybrid organization with a highly collaborative geographically distributed team. Occasional travel to support and attend events outside of regular business hours may be required (typically no more than 5%).

  • Requires occasional weekend, off-hours, or evening work

  • The selected individual must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
