Manager of Leadership Development Training

The Opportunity

The Manager of Leadership Development Training is responsible for working with our leading corporate partners to assess, design, develop and deliver learning programs that are focused on the Pan Asian leadership experience.  This position requires a natural leader with a passion for learning, the confidence to guide clients through the learning program design process, and proven experience in designing and facilitating executive leadership programming in corporate environments.  This role is also responsible for identifying new corporate and community partnership opportunities, and cultivating strategic relationships with key stakeholders to support the organization's mission and sustainability.

Responsibilities

Content Creation and Facilitation

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and instructional designers to curate, develop, and refine world-class training programs that address critical API DEI challenges and leadership skills.

  • Ensure content adheres to industry leading adult learning principles, fostering active participation, critical thinking, and behavior change.

  • Deliver leading-edge development programs with an engaging and holistic approach that brings out the leader in every person; emphasize self-awareness, exposure to real-world problems, and connections to people.

  • Work with our network of trainers and facilitators to design and develop learning programs and content in various formats and channels (online courses, live online learning, instructor-led sessions, webinars, and social learning, etc).

  • Identify, recruit, train, and support our network of instructors and facilitators to ensure they are consistently delivering outstanding learning experiences with our clients.

Partnership Engagement

  • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure we create exceptional value for all of our stakeholders: our team, members, partners and industry clients.

  • Work with a range of stakeholders to identify opportunities, understand learner needs and ensure the delivery of relevant and impactful content.

  • Gather input, feedback, and insights for actionable program improvement and expansion.

  • Identify and pursue strategic partnerships and collaborations to enhance program impact and sustainability.

Program Evaluation and Reporting

  • Build evaluation framework to assess effectiveness and impact of learning initiatives on participant awareness, knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors.

  • Oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting to measure program outcomes and achievements.

  • Communicate program results to stakeholders through regular reports, presentations, and other communication channels.

Candidate Profile

The following offers an aspirational view of the ideal candidate profile.

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Social Sciences, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of proven experience in designing and implementing impactful learning strategies, particularly related to DEI and leadership, ideally within corporate or social impact settings.

  • Deep understanding of DEI principles and the specific and nuanced challenges for AAPI professionals, coupled with knowledge of effective leadership development practices.

  • Proactive, autonomous, collaborative, and resourceful.

  • Experience optimizing a range of learning management technologies, e-learning tools, and virtual learning platforms.

  • Strong facilitation skills in both live in-person and live-virtual environments, able to problem-solve, analyze, and effectively deliver high quality work.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage with diverse groups of stakeholders across various sectors and backgrounds.

  • Analytical mindset to measure learning outcomes, assess impact, and make data-driven decisions.

  • Commitment to the values of equity, social justice, and inclusivity.

  • Experience working on a remote and agile team.

  • Passionate brand ambassador for the mission and values of Ascend.

  • Successful completion of background checks required upon hire.

Employment Details

  • Full Time, Salary/Exempt position with a starting salary of $75,000-85,000.  The actual base salary offered may vary depending on candidate qualifications, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and analysis of internal pay equity.

  • Generous benefit program including employer subsidized Medical/Dental and Vision insurance.

  • Ascend is a remote organization with a highly collaborative geographically distributed team. This model may change in the future. This position will initially be offered as a remote role with occasional travel to support and attend events outside of regular business hours (typically no more than 10%).

  • Requires occasional weekend, off-hours, or evening work
