Inaugural Ascend Charity Golf Outing Raised Over $140,000 For The Ascend Foundation And Honored Andrew Y. Chin And Qingji Yang, Ph.D. With Ascend Trailblazer Awards
NEW YORK, May 31, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The New York-based Ascend Foundation hosted their inaugural charity golf tournament at the fairways of Manhattan Woods Golf Club at West Nyack. 19 teams from some of the largest Fortune 500 and other prominent professional services firms competed for the coveted prizes. The event's honorees, Andrew Y. Chin, Chief Risk Officer and Head of Quantitative Research, AB and Qingji Yang, Ph.D., Principal, EY, both received the Ascend Trailblazer Awards.
The event raised over $140,000 consisting of event sponsorships, registration fees, silent auction and raffles to further the mission of the Ascend Foundation. The nationally-recognized non-profit supports research to educate, advocate, and enable Pan-Asian business leaders to reach their full potential, and provides scholarships to honor students who demonstrate scholastic excellence, leadership, and commendable community service.

The hole-in-one prize, a brand-new Mercedes-Benz convertible sponsored by Mercedes Benz of Manhattan, and the display of the prestigious Presidents Cup of PGA added another level of excitement to the already sold-out tournament. The proceeds of over $140,000 will be utilized to support the Foundation's mission of advocacy, thought leadership, education and scholarships.
