Philippine Consul General to Attend Ascend National Convention

Ascend, the premier non-profit professional association dedicated to the leadership potential of Pan-Asians in global corporations, is pleased to announce that Philippine Consulate General, Honorable Mario Lopez de Leon, Jr. will be present to honor Washington SyCip with the first ever President’s Lifetime Achievement Award at the Leadership Lunch taking place at the Ascend National Convention. “Competing in a Borderless World,” Ascend’s fourth annual convention, will be held August 27 – 29 at the Hilton in New York City.

Honorable Mario Lopez de Leon, Jr., who on March 1st 2011 accepted his new post as the New Consul General with jurisdiction over Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont, promotes the bonds of the Philippines and of the Filipino community throughout the Northeast. Mr. Lopez felt it imperative that he was present to support Ascend’s first ever President’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr. Lopez has served as acting assistant secretary of the Office of Fiscal Management (June 2009 - January 2010) and as the chief coordinator of the Secretary of Foreign Affairs (September 2008 - January 2010). Mr. Lopez is a long-standing colleague of Mr. SyCip.
