The 7th Annual Ascend National Convention, the Largest Pan-Asian Business Event of the Year, to Take Place in Washington D.C. on August 23rd to 25th, 2014

The Honorable Norman Y. Mineta to receive Ascend Lifetime Achievement Award

NEW YORK, August 7 2014 - Ascend, the largest, non-profit Pan-Asian organization for business professionals in North America is holding its 7th Annual National Convention in Washington D.C. on August 23rd to 25th. The Ascend National Convention is the largest gathering of Pan-Asian business leaders and professionals in North America with over 2,000 attendees.

Top industry leaders, senior executives and professionals, along with MBAs and undergraduate students representing over 250 corporations and universities participate in three days of leadership and professional development and networking. At this year’s convention, we will recognize Norman Y. Mineta, Retired United States Secretary of Transportation and Founder of the Mineta Transportation Institute with the Ascend Lifetime Achievement Award. The announcement was made today by Jeff Chin, the Ascend National President. The award recognizes an individual who has made extraordinary and integral contributions to the Pan-Asian community throughout their career.

This year’s convention theme “Building Connections, Building Leaders, Building Growth” speaks to the lifelong objectives, commitment and principles that Ascend is founded on. This year, we are honored to have many great leaders speak at Ascend’s Convention, such as SEC Commissioner Michael S. Piwowar and John Veihmeyer, Global Chairman of KPMG International and Chairman and CEO of KPMG in the U.S.
