AEN CMO Affinity Presents: Building Modern Marketing Teams — A CHRO’s Perspective

Building Modern Marketing Teams—A CHRO’s Perspective

As marketing organizations evolve, CMOs must partner more closely with HR to build the right capabilities, culture, and leadership pipeline for the future.

This session offers a candid look at marketing leadership through the eyes of a Chief Human Resources Officer. CMOs will explore how CHROs assess talent, leadership readiness, and organizational health-and what they expect from marketing leaders as builders of teams, culture, and capability.

The conversation will go beyond hiring to address how modern marketing teams are structured, developed, and sustained, especially amid rapid change, AI adoption, and shifting workforce expectations. Through facilitated dialogue and peer exchange, participants will reflect on their own leadership approach and identify opportunities to strengthen collaboration with HR.

You’ll walk away with:

  • A deeper understanding of how CHROs view marketing talent and leadership

  • Insights into building resilient, future-ready marketing teams

  • Practical ideas for partnering with HR on capability building and culture

  • Personal reflections to refine your leadership and people strategy
