New Report: API Mental Health at Work
November 2024
Ascend has released the final in a 3-part series of reports focused on the state of API mental health and well-being in the workplace and beyond. The series of reports addresses unique cultural stressors like the rise of anti-Asian hate in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as universal themes like work-life balance, gender inequities, and how companies can support the well-being of employees.
New Study: Ascend ATLAS
The Ascend Asian Talent and Leadership Advancement Study (ATLAS) is a comprehensive study taking a holistic look at API workforce issues.
In partnership with Professor Jackson Lu of MIT Sloan School of Management, the ATLAS collects data from companies and employees so that we can identify and share innovative best practices to help employers build more equitable, inclusive workplaces.
Ascend Impact Report
Throughout the challenging times since the COVID-19 pandemic, with anti-Asian hate and economic instability, we continue to amplify the core tenets of the 5-point Action Agenda and through the Ascend Impact Fund, we put greater focus on advocacy, allyship, education, mobilization and thought leadership to foster a culture of belonging. Ascend, C200, Catalyst, and Women Business Collaborative (WBC) releases the third annual report highlighting Women CEO’s in America. This year, women CEOs in the Fortune 500 are 8.8% and we recognize the industries in which women CEOs are rising.
Asian Representation on Fortune 1000 Boards - 2022 Report
Ascend Pinnacle and the KPMG Board Leadership Center (BLC) launched our inaugural study of public Fortune 1000 boards in 2020 to take a deep dive into the number of Asians that serve on these boards.
Barely a Crack in the Asian Glass Ceiling
Since we began quantitative analysis of the Asian glass ceiling seven years ago, Ascend finds that in 93% of the 124 companies we analyzed, Asians still have not broken through the glass ceiling to the executive level.

The available Fortune 100 EEO-1 data reveals that although Asians are well represented in the Professional workforce in the largest US companies, they are not being represented proportionally in the executive ranks.
